With the threat of Coronavirus becoming very high, many of us are now increasingly worried about it's impact and getting the virus.

There have been hundreds of articles & posts telling us about washing our hands & using hand sanitiser, so much so that now we have a shortage of it in shops!

BUT

NOT ONCE have I seen any article or mention on the news giving information out about how important good nutrition & lifestyle is towards supporting a healthy immune system👎Where's the articles telling you about keeping well hydrated, ensuring you consume enough protein & a wide range of foods to enable you to get the vitamins & minerals you need to make sure you have a healthy immune response?


Anyone seen information telling you that sleep deprivation has a major impact on reduced immunity so this is something you should be looking to be proactive about


Posts about being active & exercising? Nope not seen any of those either but exercise is beneficial to good immune function but if you are someone who takes part in intense activity, make sure you are getting adequate rest, recovery time & refuelling as intensive exercise can lead to a temporary suppression of immune function😴💪🍴


If you are someone who is overweight/obese, this also is going to have an impact on the strength of your immune system so now is the time to start doing something about working towards shedding some pounds & helping give your immune system a boost.


And guess what?! another thing which contributes towards suppressed immunity.....STRESS......so you're getting stressed watching the news & reading the headlines on the internet all about Coronavirus which in turn is then contributing towards supressing your immune system!!


SO to cut a long post short..... 👍Ensure you are eating a healthy, balanced diet including plenty of fruit, veggies & lean protein

💪Stay well hydrated

💪Get enough sleep

💪Make sure you're staying active & getting at least the recommended hours of exercise each week as well as allowing recovery/rest periods & refuelling your body

💪Don't allow stress to get on top of you. Try out meditation & relaxation techniques, as well as doing things which you find relaxing & enjoyable.

💪If you are overweight/obese, be proactive & start shedding those pounds, your body & immune system will thank you for it!

💪Keep up a good level of hygiene & don't hog all the hand sanitiser!
