The Nut-ritional, low calorie nut!

Who would believe that those little green nuts don't come far behind bananas in terms of Potassium content (1 small banana/49 pistachio kernals avg)

Also rich in an antioxident called Lutein which is important when it comes to keeping your eyes and skin healthy.

As well as being one of the lowest calorie nuts, they also are one of best foods for providing Vitamin B6- This is important for aiding blood sugar regulation and the formation of haemoglobin, a molecule that carries oxygen in red blood cells.

Protein makes up about 20% of this little nut, so it's no surprise that they are second only to almonds when it comes to protein content. Their essential amino acid profile is also higher than any other nut. ( Amino Acids are the building blocks for protein and essential Amino Acids cannot be made within the body so therefore we have to get them from our diets)

A great snack, pistachios are also delicious when used in baking and cooking
