Trying to maintain healthy habits & nutrition can be tough when our normal daily patterns change and Coronavirus/lockdown has done just that for so many of us. A little trip over to the fridge or cupboard every half an hour in between hosting Zoom calls in your PJs has become a new, not so welcome habit. Is this ringing any bells? Well have no fear because here are some top tips to ensure you stay on track with your diet whilst working from the comfort of your own home!
Stick to the routine you would when you're in your workplace & make a meal plan for the week
Coffee break at 10.45am in the office? Schedule a trip to the kettle/coffee machine at home
Lunch hour at 12.30pm with your packed lunch? Make yourself lunch the night before as you normally would & plan your work around a lunch break at a similar time at home. And because you're in your own home, you can even up your packed lunch game because quite frankly no one is going to hear you slurping that soup or see you dropping the noodles all down yourself!
Move away from your desk to eat
When working from home it can become all too easy to forget to create separation between your work time & your down time. It's important to focus on the food you're eating, how you're fuelling your body & take time to eat slowly without any distractions from emails pinging up every 30 seconds on your computer screen. Step away from your desk, grab your food and/or drink & find a relaxing space to enjoy some down time.
