Make Your Own Nutritious Trail Mix

Grab some dried fruits, banana chips, nuts, seeds & dark chocolate





Nuts: Raw nuts which haven't been coated in anything, salted or roasted are the best option


Seeds: Great source of vitamins & minerals as well as protein. Again try to buy ones which haven't been coated in anything.


Dried Fruit: Due to it's high sugar content, dried fruit is the perfect option to include in a post-workout snack to help boost your low blood sugar levels. Aim to buy fruits which have been sun dried & again haven't been coated in anything or anything added to them.


Dark Chocolate: 70% or higher cocoa content is key (the higher the % the better). If you can't find dark chocolate chips, buy a bar & break up a square or two.



Creating Your Trail Mix

1 & half cups of nuts

1 cup seeds

1 cup dried fruits

2 squares dark chocolate


Mix together all the ingredients in a large bowl & then store in a airtight container/ sandwich bag. Will last for up to 1 month if stored correctly. (Not that it's going to need to last that long!)


Grab a handful & transfer to a pot/bag as a post work out snack option
